Car-Studded Movies

We often think of the unsung heroes of movies as being the best friend, the nerdy unassuming kid down the block, the sidekick and sometimes the adorably brave pet. But, since we are all about cars here, we forget that the hot ride the hero zooms around is, is just as much the star as anyone else. Here are our favorite celeb cars!

Movie: American Graffiti
Car: ’32 Ford Five-Window
Why: Well why not? George Lucas, drag racing, trouble-making men, summer nights.

Movie: The Blues Brothers
Car: ’74 Monaco Police Package
Why: Never before has Chicago’s lower Wacker Drive seen a police car travel at such speeds that John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd bring upon the Windy City.

Movie: Gone in 60 Seconds
Car: ’67 Mustang
Why: Nicholas Cage might not be the most bad-ass actor out there, but he does drive a pretty bad-ass car.

Movie: Goldfinger
Car: Aston Martin DB5
Why: James frickin Bond. Need we explain further?

Movie: The Italian Job (1969 version)
Car: Lamborghini Miura
Why: Awesome cars doing amazing stunts while trying to rob a Turkish bank of millions of dollars of gold. It’s the ultimate car chase kinda movie.

Sansone's Sounds of Summer!

Sansone’s Sounds of Summer

Summer means the perfect excuse to drive around with no purpose at all, windows rolled down, jamming out to your favorite radio hits. It’s not always an easy task trying to decide what to listen to and even more of a challenge if you have picky passengers. Sansone has created the ultimate summer playlist, filled with classics and top 2014 hits alike, perfect for cruising. You might even find yourself tapping along on the steering wheel of one of our cars!
Maps by Maroon 5: You won’t actually need a map when you listen to this song. Adam Levine’s dreamy voice will guide you along. Who knows where this tune might lead you!
Red Lights by Tiesto: Not that we encourage running through red lights, because we don’t, but there is something exciting about the thought of running away. Maybe you’ll be inspired to take that adventure-of-a-lifetime road trip.
Where the Streets Have No Names by U2: Bono knows what he’s talking about in this classic U2 hit. This song might not exactly be your usual back roads, trail blazing jam, but it will inspire you to charter an unbeaten path.
Summer by Calvin Harris: This one is pretty obvious. Plus, the music video includes drag racing some pretty sweet cars.
Life is Highway by Rascall Flatts: What better metaphor for life than that of the open road? Not to mention that summer wouldn’t be complete without a little country twang.
Should I Stay or Should I Go by the Clash: You should absolutely go! Hit the open road and enjoy the freedoms of summer!
You Can Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac: It’s true… there’s nothing stopping you from heading whichever direction you’d like during the summer.
Summer Paradise by Simple Plan: Enjoy the sunshine, warm weather, and summer days while you can!
Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen: What’s more summery than Bruce?

Shut Up and Drive by Rihanna: Or sing as loudly as you possibly can and drive. Whichever you prefer.

What are some of your favorite summer songs?

Celebrity Look Alikes

We can all admit that when we’ve looked at a car head-on, the headlights, grill, bumper etc… that it can oddly look like a human face. But have you ever thought about which cars might resemble a certain celebrity? We’re a little obsessed with cars (and we stare at them all day), so we compiled a unique list of celebrity-car look-alikes. There are worse things to be compared to:

Drake and the Fiat 500

Why? Well, small eyes set WAY wide, square-ish head, and little bit of stubble.

Michael Caine and the 1951 Chrysler K-310

Why? There’s something about Michael Caine that is so regal and charming… kind of like the 1951 Chrysler K-310. If you look closely, the grill of the K-310 was practically modeled after Caine’s mottled smile and square chin.

Angelina Jolie and the Zenvo ST1

Why? All angles, sexy as heck, and slightly intimidating.

Larry the Cable Guy and Mater

Why? Ummm. This one needs no explanation.

Jay Baruchel and the 1983 Trans Am Daytona 500

Why? They’re both kind of goofy looking — and always squinting.

Reese Witherspoon and the Alfa Romeo 4C

Why? The most recognizable feature of these two are their pointed chins!

Did we miss any look alikes? Or, maybe you think you look like a car! Share your pics with us.
